You will find almost every backstreet in every town, from the Basque North to the Balearics and Canary islands, has an Academia de Ingles (English language school) for teaching children and adults.
The City
Barcelona is Spain’s largest and most cosmopolitan city on the Mediterranean coastline. It has gorgeous weather, four beautiful sandy beaches, warm seas, world-renowned museums and breathtaking architecture. This enchanting city is a visual delight with a buzzing atmosphere. You will find Barcelona the perfect place to begin a European adventure.
Whilst you will be joining us to study we also want you to enjoy this world class city. We will do everything possible to make sure you have an enjoyable time in this fantastic region. Whether you are into Tapas evenings, café crawls, sailing trips, skiing, windsurfing, wine tasting, or beautiful beaches – we are happy to help arrange just about anything for you!
The School
Our centre is centrally located in the Eixample district of Barcelona, with a metro stop conveniently located nearby to shuttle you around the rest of the city. We are approximately 15 minutes walk from La Ramblas, (commonly regarded as the tourist centre).
Employment Opportunities
At INTESOL Spain we care about helping you find a job. We offer a full, ongoing, life-time job guidance service, thus ensuring your short or long term TEFL future. We are committed to providing you with the best assistance possible for as long as you need us.
Should you decide to remain in Barcelona, our local knowledge and contacts are unparalleled due to our associated training company Orbit Training, prevalent in the Spanish corporate training market. Opportunities exist in the Barcelona area, not just within the city, but also, if you prefer a quieter and more traditional “Spanish” lifestyle, throughout the whole Catalonia province in which Barcelona is situated. Other towns in Spain such as Madrid, Valencia, and Seville also offer great teaching opportunities.
Barcelona Accommodation
When it comes to accommodation we know that our students have individual tastes and preferences. With this in mind, we offer clean, affordable and fully serviced facilities in a number of locations throughout the city. The cost of staying in our “standard” accommodation for the duration of the one month course is €450. You will be housed in a clean, attractive, comfortable apartment, shared with two or three other students, either completing a TEFL course or studying other educational courses. Most of these apartments are in the “Eixample” area, the city’s main shopping and business district and near to the centre. There are plenty of reasonably priced places for food and this is a good place to be at night because many of the city’s trendy bars and restaurants are located here. Should you wish for more luxurious up-town accommodation, with a quieter and more sophisticated ambience, this can be arranged, albeit at extra cost.
